GETTING THE MOST FROM GOD'S WORD:

"Do NOT labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting LIFE..." - The Gospel of John 6:27 (NKJV)
A systematic and daily reading of the Word of God is important in maintaining a strong Christian life. Establish a daily quiet time with God and His Word. Pray that the Holy Spirit will help you understand what you read. By following our daily Bible reading schedule through this blog, you will be able to read the Bible through in a year. Please note that you may utilize the ‘BIBLE READER’ app that is installed at the bottom of this webpage to assist you in reading the specified scripture portion for today.

To get the MOST from God's Word, please do the following intentionally:
1. REQUEST God to connect with you as you read the word of God with FOCUS and OPENNESS to see what God wants to speak with you.
2. READ the selected sections of Scripture slowly as you mark the words and phrases that intrigue you, even reading them the second time to get a better understanding.
3. REFLECT on what God is communicating to you; stopping long enough to let the seed of God's Word take root in your heart.
4. RESPOND to the passage speaking directly to God about what is in your heart, and then look out for ways to live out what you find - individually, and to others within your church and elsewhere.

As you read and meditate, ask yourself the following three questions:
a) What is God speaking to me through this passage?
b) Is there a command, a promise or a warning for me?
c) Is there an example for me to follow?

Please POST your comments below if there is a thought or message that the Lord has spoken to you through the passage that you are reading and meditating today. Please make sure that your post is aligned to the scripture passage mentioned at the header. All comments should pertain to the relevant scripture portions only, and should be aimed to glorify God (the true author of 'The Bible') & edify everyone who visits this blog site daily - both young and old. May God bless you abundantly for encouraging others through your comments!

Let's PRAY...
LORD, give me the desire to take a little time out of my busy schedule today as I read and meditate on Your Word. Give me this day MY DAILY BREAD. Speak to me clearly & lead me today as my Good Shepherd. Help me to be a blessing to others who interact with me as I attempt to be a living witness of Your Word today. In Your Name I pray, AMEN.

Blessings for following God’s instructions completely

January 30 Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 37-40

After about eight months' labor, the Tabernacle, with all its equipments, was completed and erected on the first day of the first month (Nisan) of the second year after the departure from Egypt (Exod. 40:17). This included the Ark of the Testimony (Exodus 37:1-9), the Table for the Showbread (vv. 10-16), the God Lampstand (vv. 17-24), the Altar of Incense (vv. 25-28), the Anointing Oil and the Incense (v. 29), the Altar of Burnt Offering (Exodus 38:1-7), the Bronze Laver (v. 8), the Court of the Tabernacle (vv. 9-31) and the Garments of the Priesthood (Exodus 39:1-31). Let us see the evidence from God’s word about the people involved in building the Tabernacle:
  • Bezalel and Aholiab: “Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made ALL that the Lord had commanded Moses. And with him was Aholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver and designer, a weaver of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and of fine linen”. (Exodus 38:22-23)
  • Children of Israel: “Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished. And the children of Israel did according to ALL that the Lord had commanded Moses; so they did”. (Exodus 39:32)
  • Moses: “Thus Moses did; according to ALL that the Lord had commanded him, so he did” (Exodus 40:16)
What was the reward for following God’s instructions completely?
  • Blessings from God’s servant: "According to ALL that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. Then Moses looked over all the work, and indeed they had done it; as the Lord had commanded, just so they had done it. And Moses blessed them". (Exodus 39:42-43)
  • The Cloud and the Glory of God Almighty: "Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle" (Exodus 40:34-35)
  • The continuing abiding presence of God throughout the onward journey: "Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys" (Exodus 40:36-38)
Let us follow God’s instructions COMPLETELY as there are great blessings from God that will follow us throughout our earthly journey!
